Breaking the Cycle of Anxiety: Supporting Students Who Experience Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health concerns for children and adolescents. Anxiety presents itself in a wide range of behaviors in and outside of the classroom. It can be challenging for school personnel to recognize the signs and symptoms of anxiety and select appropriate strategies to address them.

In this 2.5 hour course we will:

  • Discuss the benefit of anxiety on learning and performance
  • Explore normal worries that are developmentally appropriate for children and teens
  • Learn how to recognize anxiety symptoms
  • Practice relaxation strategies you can use with students
  • Explore practical strategies for professionals
