Introduction to Mindfulness in the Classroom
Audience: All school professionals
Interest in mindfulness is growing rapidly in schools, communities, and in health-care settings as an evidence-based modality for promoting wellness in children, teens, and adults. Mindfulness helps to build a foundation in classrooms for empathy, optimism, and development of executive function skills (e.g. attention) and self-regulation skills. As an added bonus, mindfulness has been shown to enhance teacher’s job satisfaction.
